Jason started his culinary career at a young age, cooking for himself while his parents were away at work, and also cooked with his grandmother as a teenager. She taught him some of his favorite recipes that he still uses to this day. Jason's first job in food was as the summer cook for a pre-school/day care center in Fullerton, CA. After a few years of working in restaurants and other hospitality fields (hotels, bars, amusement parks), he decided that cooking is what he most loves to do. He graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and after was mentored by Mike Selvera, Executive Chef/Owner of Bar Crudo, a Bay Area Top 100 restaurant for several years. After a few years working as sous chef here and under Chef Ian Marks at Beast and the Hare, Jason chose to join SNP to pursue his passion for creating healthy food for kids.
