REFLECTION TIME: GOOD STUFF BY DEB GLASSER, MS, RD
December 20, 2017

It’s been an action-packed year, filled with all the events, emotions, triumphs, and tribulations one might expect given our current climate.

We completed our corporate video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uzkvLsySAkor at the top of our website) in hopes of giving both our current and potential clients, students, and their families a sense of what SNP’s mission is as well as providing a glimpse into our day to day processes in preparing and transporting school meals to schools throughout southern California. It was an exciting and rewarding project.

“A Chef Walks Into a Cafeteria…”, our soon to be released cookbook was written, photographed and edited. The result is stunning, and we cannot wait to share the book with everyone in the Spring. Stay tuned for release dates, events, and appearances.

The SNP chefs continue to work tirelessly creating new menu items that have made it to the trays of our students-much to their delight. The creativity and tenacity our chefs demonstrate, especially while working within the confines of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act is awe inspiring.

Epic Green Hummus, our new nutrition promotion event, launched several months ago, bringing delicious hummus to thousands of students. The hummus, loaded with fresh spinach, basil, oregano, and peas, although bright green, has been widely accepted by many young people who’ve never had the opportunity to try hummus-let alone Epic Green Hummus.

We have continued to grow as a team. Some of our staff and students’ families were displaced because of the wildfires that swept through the valley. The compassion shown by this group has been remarkable as everyone has rallied to show their support.

We truly value our schools and the staff, students, and families that make them exactly who they are. We wish all our SNP friends and families a very Happy Holidays and Magnificent 2018!
